The ever evolving process of Creation...
The piece is still mutating...circles within circles, layers within layers, depth versus relief, opacity versus transparency...in an all moving micro-macro-cosmos...
The final layout for the piece will be one grand circle. I will inscribe each "cell" from big to small into this circle...
The deadline is the 28th of February...and I really hope to make it!!!...
Stitch Spectacular
We went to check The Stitch Spectacular show and it gave us the perfect excuse to check another charming southern city...Savannah, Georgia...We truly enjoyed it...The show was very inspiring...it totally stimulated me to continue working on newer ever more challenging pieces. Seeing what other artists are doing across the USA also gave me a larger scope of the infinite possibilities of the textile medium. Savannah, like Charleston is another beautiful town. We loved its history and something about its people. Even though it was all too quick and couldn't really absorb it all...
But we will be back for sure!...Vivez le Sud!
Trip to Charleston, NC
I am a little behind on my postings...This one is about our trip to Charleston, NC in December, 2008. The city was lovely, full of charm and history. We really enjoyed walking up and down the streets, checking out old biuldings. The streets were full of old trees with its characteristic hanging moss, which gives the whole city an aura of nostalgia and melancholy...The fact that it is a harbour city adds to its charisma. Views of the water that surrounds it are everywhere, making the city feel open and airy. The old "rambla" along the ocean is very romantic and full of life, with children and people of all ages walking all along. We had a great time and hope to be back sometime soon. The weather was amazing! warm and delicious...We are definitely falling for the south!...there is a different rythm here...slower, more human...The trip overall was very inspiring and helped sediment some of the ideas I am incubating for my new piece...
