I did some changes to this piece. I worked with the idea of the circle and increasing the perception that we are looking into a new world or universe. Part of the piece is covered in fabric and it forces our eyes to tune into the center of the piece...The yellow fabric is also in starch contrast with the highly detailed interior of the pieces...where everything happens...

I love the view of these cells when up close. These elements are meant to be looked up really close and in detail, that's why I love the idea of having glass above them to further enhance that feeling...

Cell Universe

I finished my latest piece! So excited! I called it: Cell Universe...

It's all made in paper. Layer after layer of paper, pencil drawings, tissue paper, and thread.

I want to use this piece as the sketch for a fabric piece.

I also thought after looking at it hanging on the wall that it would be really amazing if I could find magnifying glasses or resine circles in a bubble shape to put on top of each cell, implying or giving the impression that you are looking into something...i don't know if that is even possible...but I love the idea!...
